The "2024 Golden Young Award(金漾獎)" ceremony was held on the morning of the 30th at the International Convention Center of National Taiwan University Hospital, organized by the Information Service Industry Association of R.O.C. and with Vice President of R.O.C. Hsiao Bi-khim as the awarding presenter official. This award is one of the most prestigious honors in the domestic digital information industry and has entered its tenth year, leading numerous key industries in deep cultivation and innovation. It also encourages excellent teams to use emerging digital technologies to assist industrial innovation operations and digital transition, laying the foundation for endless digital technology capabilities for the industry, moving towards a smart nation and sustainable development. Water Resources Bureau of Taichung City Government won the "Smart Application Group" award with the "Chuan-Liu-Bu-Xi Digital Guide Platform", performing brilliantly and being the only government agency to win an award.
Water Resources Bureau stated that the water system network has a profound impact on the city's appearance and development. In addition to continuously improving water conservancy facilities and enhancing water safety, Water Resources Bureau also takes into account the water-friendly environment building and promotes water culture. Now, through the Chuan-Liu-Bu-Xi Digital Guide Platform (https://river.taichung.gov.tw/), it has launched the themes of "Little Feet Reading Liuchuan Canal" and "Carbon Footprint River Walk", providing online service resources such as virtual and real environmental education programs and low-carbon mini-trips. This honor is not only a recognition of Water Resources Bureau's work results but also demonstrates the determination to move towards sustainable net-zero in line with the international community.
Water Resources Bureau explained that the water environment education field of Liuchuan Canal and Luchuan Canal has rich connotations of river remediation, historical changes, ecological restoration, and cultural stories. To deepen students' understanding of rivers, and to enhance environmental conservation awareness and the ability to face climate change, Water Resources Bureau has linked the activity worksheets with the 108 Curriculum Guidelines and the 12-year National Basic Education environmental and outdoor education themes. It also encourages students to share their activity experiences through painting. The relevant results are simultaneously displayed on a rotating basis on the multi-functional smart machines at the Liuchuan Canal and Luchuan Canal Water Culture and Environmental Education Hall, making students become little volunteers for Liuchuan Canal environmental education and allowing education to take root.
Water Resources Bureau pointed out that the city government is not lagging behind in sustainable development actions. Combining environmental education and water culture, it actively promotes low-carbon themed water culture tours and promotional work. In the future, Water Resources Bureau will continue to promote SDGs, strengthen the conservation of water and soil resources, create flood prevention and water-friendly waterfront environments, enhance disaster prevention and response capabilities, improve sewage treatment rates, sustainably use water resources, build a resilient city and protect environmental sustainability for the common good, jointly creating Taichung as a livable water culture capital!
